Naturopathy is a system of healthcare that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It focuses on a holistic approach by considering the whole person's physical, mental, and emotional health. Key principles include the healing power of nature, treating the root cause, disease prevention, and using natural agents like diet, herbs, and lifestyle changes, while avoiding synthetic drugs and surgery.
A degree-qualified Naturopath is trained in many facets of medicine, including Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Pathogenesis, Counselling, as well as their special interest areas of Herbal Medicine, Iridology, Homoeopathy, Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, bach and bush flower essences and more.
Our Naturopaths like to spend time getting to know their patients and understanding the issues in their lives. For this reason, you should expect to be with one of our qualified naturopaths for an hour and a half for your initial consultation.
Naturopathic medicine is based on 7 principles for good health:
First do no harm (primum non nocere): Naturopaths use the most gentle, non-invasive, and least toxic therapies to minimise the risk of harm.
Healing powers of nature (vis medicatrix naturae): This principle recognises the body's inherent, innate wisdom and ability to heal itself.
Identify and treat the root cause (tolle causam): Health is viewed as a complex, interconnected system. Treatment considers physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, and social factors.
Treat the whole person(tolle totum): Health is viewed as a complex, interconnected system. Treatment considers physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and spiritual factors when treating someone.
Doctor as Teacher (docere): The primary objective is to educate and empower patients, promoting self-responsibility for their own good health and understanding of wellness principles.
Disease Prevention & Health promotion (praevenire):This involves assessing risk factors and using lifestyle changes to prevent future illness and optimise health. When it comes to our health, prevention is better and cheaper than a cure in the long term.
Establish overall health and wellness: This principle focuses on promoting a state of optimal health and balance, rather than just the absence of disease

Herbal medicine is the use of plants or plant parts to treat illness, disease, heal wounds, improve and maintain overall health. It's one of the oldest forms of medicine, dating back thousands of years, with practices like traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. Many modern pharmaceutical drugs were originally derived from plants. Herbal medicine is sourced from the root, stem, leaves, flower, fruit, seeds or bark of a plant and is used in various forms, such as supplements/capsules, teas/infusions, botanical products, topical creams/ointments, essential oils, tincture or herbal liquid medicine.

Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine that was developed in the late 18th century by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician. Homoeopathy treats the individual as a whole, considering physical, emotional, and mental aspects. Practitioners aim to understand the patient’s unique constitution and tailor treatments accordingly. This holistic approach can lead to more personalised and effective care. The practitioner will ask detailed questions about your physical, emotional, spiritual and mental health, as well as your lifestyle and medical history. This helps them understand your unique symptoms and overall well-being. The goal is to identify a personalised remedy that stimulates your body’s natural healing processes.
Bach Flower Essences are highly diluted liquid extracts of flowers believed by some to balance emotional states. Developed by Dr Edward Bach in the 1930s, there are 38 original remedies, each associated with a specific emotional challenge like fear, grief, uncertainty, or lack of confidence. They are prepared by steeping flowers in water and are preserved in brandy and water, often used as a complementary therapy for emotional well-being “The remedies to be described are beneficent in action, and cause no aggravation nor reaction, for their effect is to uplift”, Dr Edward Bach, 1930.
Bush Flower Essences are vibrational remedies made from Australian native flowers that are used to address emotional and mental well-being. They are created by infusing the flowers in water using sunlight, then preserving the liquid with brandy to create a "mother tincture". These essences are considered different from essential oils because they are scent-free and work on a vibrational, not aromatic, level.

Your eyes are like a window into your soul and inner health.
Iridology looks at the colours, patterns, and markings in the iris (the coloured part of the eye) to reveal your body’s unique strengths and areas that may need extra care. It helps identify tendencies such as inflammation, congestion, or stress, giving valuable insight into your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. While iridology doesn’t diagnose disease, it’s a powerful tool for understanding your body’s story and guiding personalised wellness recommendations.Sclerology focuses on the whites of the eye (the sclera) to assess how well your organs and systems are functioning. Together, iridology and sclerology offer a holistic snapshot of your current health. Because changes in the eyes occur gradually, a follow-up every 12 months can help track your progress and celebrate improvements in your well-being.
